PROGRAM GOALS:

  • Offer tailored mentorship to emerging artists, guiding them toward establishing sustainable careers in the arts.

  • Foster artistic growth and evolution by encouraging constructive critique and feedback on their work.

  • Cultivate a diverse and inclusive community of young, emerging artists within Rockland County, promoting cultural exchange and collaboration.

  • Provide essential professional development opportunities to equip artists with the skills needed to thrive in their careers.

  • Encourage intergenerational collaboration, creating meaningful exchanges between artists of all ages and stages of their careers.

  • Enhance the cultural landscape of Rockland County by introducing the community to fresh voices and new artistic creations.

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION:

  • The 2025 AMP is exclusively for visual artists and requires a four-month commitment from January 1st - May 30th, 2025.

  • An in-person orientation will be held on a Sunday in mid-January to kick off the program.

  • Throughout the course of the program, participants will attend monthly in-person group meetings featuring presentations, panel discussions, breakout sessions, artwork critiques, and independent assignments—all designed to promote ongoing growth and development.

  • These group meetings will take place once a month on Sunday mornings or early afternoons, from February to May.

  • In between the group sessions, mentors and mentees will meet individually, either in-person or virtually, to address specific mentee needs and further explore topics from the group meetings.

  • The program will culminate in a final in-person art exhibition and artist reception in May 2025, offering participants an opportunity to showcase their work and engage with the community.
