NEW Grant Opportunity for Individual Artists
Arts Council of Rockland to Award Two Grants of $2,500
The Arts Council of Rockland (ACOR) has received a grant of $5,000 from the New York State Council on the Arts (NYSCA) to award two artist grants of $2,500 each to Rockland artists.
This grant is designed to provide direct support to artists of all disciplines to create original new work that will enhance public participation in the arts by directly engaging the community in the artist's creative process. Project proposals should reflect a commitment to community life and culture and highlight the role of the artist as a community resource. Projects must be initiated by the artist and engage the community through active participation and/or production of the project.

The grants will be awarded directly to the artists. Awarded projects must take place during 2009 and be completed by December 31, 2009.
