Textures in Photography
My exhibit at the Courthouse focuses on photographing texture. Texture can be understood as the tactile or physical feel of something. It is all about patterns, depth and color. As a photographer, I want my viewers to want to reach out and touch my photos and actually sense the rough wood, peeling paint, rusted wrought iron and cobwebs. Texture exists in leaves, tree bark,
rippling water and overcast skies as well as many other aspects of nature. Old objects covered in rust or flaking paint hold a strong fascination for me and I love snapping these pictures.
