Mackenzie Heslin-Scott
Growing up in a mixed household, I always questioned my identity, I was too white to be black and too black to be white. Now that I’ve come into my own I’ve realized that there is no such thing as “too much of one race versus another.” I use my art to highlight my heritage, mainly the black experience since most media only portrays negative stereotypes. Self trained with heavy influences from Basquiat, Kehinde Wiley, and a dash of Banksy, I try to leave my soul on the canvas for all to feel.
